Wardstones

To etch a wardstone, the runecaster needs a supply of special arcane tools and powders.  The cost of these materials is subsumed in the cost for creating the wardstone.  Etching a wardstone costs 500 T. per Greater Rune, 300 T. per Major Rune and 100 T. per Minor Rune, multiplied by the level of the runecaster.  This is for the first rune that is part of the ward.  The second rune that is part of the same ward costs 75% as much, and any subsequent runes in the ward cost 50% of their value.  Wardstones have 50 charges when created.

Etching a wardstone requires one day for each 1,000 T. value of the completed wardstone.  It takes a minimum of one day to etch a wardstone.

A wardstone must be etched on an immovable object or structure, such as a wall, pillar, gate, etc.  Living objects may not serve as wardstones, nor may a single object contain more than a single wardstone.  If a wardstone is moved, its magic fails instantly and all bearers of its keystones are immediately aware of the wardstone's destruction.

A wardstone's power extends thirty feet in all directions from the anchor point and pass through all non-magically shielded barriers.  This range may be increased by ten foot increments by adding 20% to the cost of the wardstone.

For every wardstone created, the runecaster may create keystones that allow the bearer safe passage through the warded area.  A runecaster may create a number of keystones for each wardstone equal to his runecaster level.  Each keystone costs 15 XP and 50 T. to create.
